27 days left till I have to Grow up

Life just seems to be flying by. We both graduate in 27 days.  I graduate with my bachelors degree and Jason with his master's degree.  He had to take a test that if he passes allows him to graduate. I am sure he passed but we are just waiting to see. He also has had some interviews,we are hoping to see what they all decided. He has had a few interviews with potential job opportunities, we are just playing the waiting game. We may be moving to either another city in Tennessee or if God sends us elsewhere then we will go there.

I really like to have my life planned out and right now it's up in the air.  I am learning to put all my trust in the Lord. He always takes care of us and does not give us more that we can handle. I have been extremely humbled and I know that Heavenly Father will answer prayers, just in his due time.  Also, today in church I relearned that if we read the scriptures and do what we need to God will bless us.

I work in the Primary, I love my calling. The little children teach me so much. It is simple but in all reality the gospel is simple and great.  I am extremely grateful to my Savior Jesus Christ for taking upon him my sins so I can use the Atonement in my life each day.

March Madness

Well, it was March Madness time and if you know us we are huge basketball fans.  Sadly this year we felt that March Madness was fun to watch but not as crazy as last year.  We had the opportunity to go the Bridgestone Arena here in Nashville and watch the NCAA first round tournament. I was excited because the Texas Longhorns were in town. I served my mission in San Antonio, Texas but my first area was in Austin, home of the Longhorns.  It was very fun to watch in person the games.  We basically spent all day that Friday there.

Also, our school MTSU or Middle Tennessee State University got invited to the NIT tournament and got to play at home.  MTSU played Marshall, then went to play the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and beat them.  They had another game at home to play Minnesota, sadly we lost to them but it was such a fun exciting year to watch.  Granted there not BYU but they were fun and pretty amazing this year. I must say I am sad that basketball season is over but there is always next season.

Spring Break 2012

We are on Spring Break and since I have to work we can't go out of town.  So, it has become tradition to go to a Nashville Predator Hockey game instead.  This particular game on March 6, 2012 was against the L.A. Kings and it happened to me Mormon night.  We had such a great time at the game, unfortunately we lost 5-4.  It was really sad but we got to go onto the ice and shoot a puck into the net. It was pretty cool once in a lifetime opportunity.  We also meet the mascot, Gnash.  It was so cool be on the ice and shoot a puck.  If you know me, I was never a fan of hockey but since I meet Jason, that has changed.Hockey is pretty fun to watch more in person.  I'm glad it's something we get to share together as a couple.

Update on our life as of now

It has been awhile since I have posted so here it goes.  We both will be graduating in May and we are excited.  Jason will be getting his masters degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology, aka human resources.  I will finally finish my undergraduate in Liberal Studies, but I plan to still teach K-3rd grade.  Just going about it in a shorter way.

As of now we are open to new things. Jason is busy apply for jobs and trying to finish his thesis.  The future is an open book right now. It is exciting but a little scary at once.  Luckily, for me I would not take this adventure with anyone else but Jason.  He is such a wonderful husband.  I am still working as an after care teacher and busy in Primary.  I also am working on a huge project of lesson plans so I can graduate.  It will be nice to be done and see where life takes us.

Christmas 2011

We flew out to Utah on December 16 and came back January 2nd.  It was a fun time, it was good seeing old friends and family again.  As many of you know Jason and I are huge sports fans.  We went back to BYU and enjoyed the BYU vs. Baylor basketball game.  It was nice to be back to the our school and where Jason proposed.  BYU lost unfortunately but the refs sucked and were calling some lame calls.

We spent some time visiting Jason's family.  Family is awesome.  I am so glad God gave us families.  Also, we caught up with some dear friends and it was good spending time with them. It was amazing to think it had been a year and a half since we were in Utah.  Nothing has changed but then it seemed like many things had.  I felt like all we did while we were in Utah was eat, which is not a bad thing.  We really missed eating Cafe Rio and In n' Out.  In Tennessee we cannot find any good Mexican food.

Christmas Eve we had some of the elderly  ladies over for dinner and spent time together as a family.  It was nice to be with my family again.  Christmas Day we opened up gifts, went to church and had a good day.  As a family the next day we saw the movie Warhorse.  It was a good movie that makes you cry.  Jason, me, my little sister and a few of her friends went to the Utah Jazz home opener versus the Philadelphia 76ers.  It was a fun game, came down to the wire.  We won 102 to 99.  Also, my sister threw a huge  New Years Eve party.  We had a good night and a good visit.

It was nice to come back to Utah.  It was really cold and unfortunately it never snowed while we were there.   We enjoyed our time there. We hope everyone a great upcoming year in 2012.

Thanksgiving and Black Friday

This Thanksgiving we went to spend it with Jason's side of the family in Virginia.  It was a nice time with family.  We drove the nine hours there and had a fun ride.  We went to eat with Jason's dad's side of the family for Thanksgiving dinner.  It was a new experience, they did not serve your traditional food. We ate ham, short ribs, and salmon along with carrot casserole (kinda tastes like sweet potatoes).  I don't like sweet potatoes so I enjoyed the carrot casserole.  We had some yummy pies and watched football.  Later that night Jason and I went to Walmart to stand in line for a laptop that was on sale for black Friday.  I have never stood in line for anything but it was an experience.

Unfortunately, a few days before we went to Virgina, Jason's laptop crashed on him.  Luckily, everything was saved onto flash drives or the Icloud.  It was basically perfect timing since we were going to ask for laptops for Christmas anyway.  Now, we will just buy it and he will use it early.  So, anyways, when going to Walmart on Black Friday, make sure you ask people when there standing in line by a pharmacy what there in line for.  We were standing by the balloon that says stand here but there was a line that had formed by the pharmacy for the laptops.  It was a bit tense for awhile but we were numbers 9 and 10.  This meant we were guaranteed a laptop, but they made you stay in line.  If you had to leave to go to the bathroom you needed a pass, which was only for fifteen minutes.

At 10pm they began selling toys but some people began taking the shrink wrap off early.  There was a huge fight that broke out in the garden center over Powerwheels Car's Car.  People were punching each other and the police came in to arrest people.  Who knew power wheels were so deadly.  LOL.  To make a story short, we got the laptops at midnight and went to sleep at 2am. Before we went to bed at 1am we drove by Target and the line was still completely out the door, it opened at midnight.   We woke up at 8am and went to Target to get other things for family and friends.

Power wheels Car that caused all the drama

The next afternoon we had a traditional dinner with Jason's mom and siblings. It was yummy. It was a good time had by all.  Now on to Utah for Christmas.

My 26th Birthday and News

I apologize for not updating this recently.  As we all know life gets busy and hectic.   Jason had the opportunity to apply for a potential job in Washington D.C. for upcoming master's degree graduates.  He took a weird test and they told us the results last night. Unfortunately, they were not the results we wanted but we know the Lord has plans for us elsewhere.  We are both scheduled to graduate in May 2012 and we are pretty excited to see what life has planned for us.

I turned 26 on October 19th.  It was a great day, I went to school and had to take a test but I did well on it.  I also had to go to work with my preschoolers.  They all sang Happy Birthday and kept saying it all day.  The night before Jason had decorated the apartment and bought me roses. He is such a great sweet husband.  We  went to eat dinner at Olive Garden and played mini gold in the mall.  It is a glow in the dark mini golf course.  It was fun.  Jason also made me cake and bought me a GPS.  My mom got me a massage and a Kohl's gift card.  My sister gave me some money and Rafa got me a gift card to Olive Garden.  My mother in law got me some new shoes and so it was a great day.  Then my awesome visiting teacher and dear friend brought me some cute little desserts. Here is a picture of them, they were cute and yummy.
